We all hear about New Year resolutions and what we will do differently in the new year. But I would like to hear what you won't do in 2019. By stopping or reducing something that has been negative, it can sometimes be as beneficial as doing something that is positive.

Sante, I won't work a job or contract that doesn't allow me the quality of life and ability to pursue my varied interests.

Kiron
That's a good one Kiron. I have been guilty of doing the opposite in the past. Wisdom with age perhaps? ;-)

I won’t stop being active in this community and I won’t stop my professional development.

Riyadh: Good One Indeed but take care of your coffee intake.
That's great Rami. We should be life-long learners. It's never late to learn and develop :-)

Things I will continue not doing.
1) Become complacent
2) Be pessimistic
That's cool Andrew. You could be the most optimistic person on this forum, which is a good trait. I wish I had more of it.

As usual, I won't make New Year resolutions. But I will continue with the things I strive to not do now.
I won't gain any new bad habits.
I won't allow myself to continue in bad situations.
I won't wallow.
I won't allow myself to wake up in the morning thinking that I just want to go back to bed.
I won't hate Mondays and wish for Fridays.
I won't blame others for things am capable if changing.
I won't get mad at people in traffic, they are just trying to get somewhere as well.
I won't play the victim.
I won't keep negative people in my life.

I will try to find the positive in any situation.
I will try to help anyone in need.
I will work to improve my skills.
I will work towards finding work that makes me feel happy and needed.
I will be kind.
I will be happy most of the time.

There is a rule of thumb I have heard in many pursuits that where the eyes go, the body will follow. If you are driving a car and you want to avoid an obstacle, staring at the obstacle will make you drive right into it. Looking at the escape route will get you out of trouble.

In 2019, I won't focus on the obstacle. I'll focus on where it isn't. ;-)
