1. Ability to delete comments you've made on a discussion thread.
2. Minimum length requirements for a comment on a discussion thread or blog so that folks can't get away with a generic "thanks for sharing"
I totally understnad this one but I don’t thing length limits can solve anything. Instead of Thanks for sharing it can be: excellent article, thanks for sharing, I learned a lot and I’m looking for something else from you, I really appreciate all you work for this community and ......
I believe some people really mean it and at the same time they have nothing else to add, so they write at least this. And some people don’t mean it and just want to stay active. Well, it is what it is. The true value of influencer is not in the collected points on influence. It is in the recognition by community members. Who, I believe, recognize the value you’re giving and I also think they do remember names and faces.

Lenka, you have raised a very valid point and I totally support you on that but what else can we do if the system is designed like that and if you really don't put few comments here and there or put questions then you get penalized and the drop your influence score like falling knife though I started to free my mind and not look at it but some times still catch the eyes and it is a mind game after all we are human being not robots so feelings is there
but once again really good points.

Hi Riyadh! Believe it or not, today is the first time I ever checked your influence score. Because honestly, I don’t care what’s your number, I care who you are. I see you as a person who is very kind, noticing and supporting the others here, caring for this community and out en effort to formulate intriguing questions. And that’s what I appreciate! And I’m sure I’m not the only one... there are some many people on this website who are not necessarily saying anything, but they read and watch and make their conclusions.
We are naturally competitive and when someone gives a stick, we start chasing it. Influence score seems to be a big deal, I get it. It looks like a recognitions and confirmation that we do the right thing here. But if you dig deeper how the score really works, you would see that it is a lot about quality. Being active is one way how to build the score, but that’s actually very vulnerable strategy. Once you drop your activity, the score drops. Because just activity does not build enough foundation for your score. And is it possible to cheat on that? Well I guess so because whatever we people design, there is always some flaw.
But hey, what’s more important? The number or when someone tells you Riyadh, you really raised a good point here. For me, I always feel so good when someone replies by using my name and saying that they liked my answer, that they are going to use my blog post in their job, when someone contacts me directly for an advice. That’s the real thing and it makes me feel useful.
I don’t answer to everything because frankly speaking, sometimes I don’t know what to add, I don’t understand the questions, I don’t like the article, but sometimes also because I don’t feel like sharing the same views of the author. It matters who we are here, people see that even if they stay silent. But when I do like it, I would like to appreciate the person. Networking is a lot about giving back. You can’t expect large network of supporters if you don’t address their issues, their questions and don’t give them added value. And you do this very good. So don’t risk your great image by chasing some number. It’s not worth it. Build foundation for your score and you would not need to worry about taking holidays and staying offline;)
