For those who have read some of my postings and have some idea of who I am, you know that I have spent the last several months preparing for the PMP exam. Well, I say with great pride and relief, that I took the test yesterday and passed!

Congratulations!!!.....It really pays back for all your hard work for the past few months. I just applied for the exam. Perhaps you could share your experience on your preparation before the exam and the PMP itself . Most probably I will take the exam next month Saving Changes...

The test itself wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. I tend to be a little bit of an over-thinker sometimes, so I had to pay special attention to that and make an effort to go with my gut-level on many of the situational questions.
One thing I highly recommend is develop your brain dump sheet. I spent most of the last two days doing my brain dump over and over, so that it became second nature. So, the first thing I did when I sat down... the brain dump.
Another thing I did was I took a break after each 100 questions. After the first 100 questions I took a 5 minute break. After the second 100 questions, I took 10 minute break. If I didn't know an answer pretty much right away, I guessed the answer, marked it for review and moved on to the next question.
Actual test time, for me, was 2 hours and 45 minutes. Since I had an hour left, I almost made the mistake of going back and reviewing all of the questions again, however; I decided that it would be better to just click the button and see if I passed.
I recieved Moderately Proficient in most of the categories. I probably could have improved that scoring if I had gone back and looked at my answers again, but I decided to just answer from my gut and leave it at that.
If you haven't checked out my personal blog (garydrumm.com), I note some of the study guides and books I used during my preparation. There's even pictures! :)
At any rate, I'm glad it's done. Now I can move on to my ITIL cert. Saving Changes...

Like we said in the US Army, they wouldn't call it the minimum if it wasn't good enough. Congratulations! I assume you self-studied? Saving Changes...
