Once you complete your 60 PDU requirements ( Cycle is completed) and you keep earning PDUs will they be counted for next cycle or they just lapsed

Riyadh and Deepesh, I am just giving an excerpt from CCR Handbook-"If you earn more than the required PDUs in your CCR cycle, you may apply a portion of
the PDUs to your next cycle. Only PDUs earned in the final year (12 months) of your
certification cycle can be applied to a future cycle"

Hey Riyadh, this comes up from time to time. And you would think that if you cycle early, you can get started right away on the next. Unfortunately, that is not the case, depending on how early you cycle.

Riyadh -

I hit this situation fairly regularly which is why I don't start submitting PDU requests until my next recertification cycle starts for at least one of my credentials.

This is an area of improvement for the certification folks to consider as someone can earn 60 PDUs in the first month of a three year cycle, do nothing for the next 35 months and then do the same again. This does not strike me as "continuous learning" :-)

Maybe PMI can introduce a PDU interest accumulating scheme - earn extra PDUs over and above the 60 and they will appreciate in value in your next cycle (e.g. 10 PDUs earned in advance will be equivalent to 15 PDUs earned during the cycle) :-)
