I am a junior consultant and I get to work with different projects.
I am planning to take a PMP training later this month. Since I do not have the relevant credentials for a PMP exam (4500 hrs in project management etc, I have around 3600 hrs), I have decided to go for a CAPM certification first.
Is CAPM worth it .. from a professional perspective, from a job perspective and better exposure and depth in managing projects ? Saving Changes...
Better to be certified and not have one at all !
Assuming you are working for an organisation? What is the preferred certification within your company that will add value to your Project Management - this would be my first step, investigate, talk with your colleagues, peers to enable you to make the right choices and decisions for yourself. Take time to learn and develop from working with different projects, knowledge and experience add value. Study with the time allowed and when you are ready having first gained invaluable project management experience go for the right certification.
With 3600 hours of experience under your belt, you may not go for CAPM, start preparing for PMP and after 9 months to a year you would have had 4500 hours of experience, so you will be able to write PMP Exam. Saving Changes...

Omar,
Why not go for the PRINCE 2 qualification whilst your experience increases and then maybe next year go for the PMP.
Good luck for your future. Saving Changes...
PRINCE2 is as tough a certification as PMP, so I would not advice going for that. There is still a way... If at all you have made up your mind to go for PRINCE2, this is a two-part certification. You go for PRINCE2 Foundation now and attempt PRINCE2 Practitioner later. Saving Changes...
