You don't. Scientists are currently working on a new compound to be used to build bombs, replacing TNT. The irony of it is that it is the result of a) military wanting more explosive power and b) wanting to reduce the harmful after effects such as chemicals seeping into ground water (no joke).

So if people are willing to try and make killing more environment friendly there is no way that a country will agree to demilitarize technology. In fact quite the opposite will happen. It can be argued that AI makes killing safer by giving the ability to target better e.g. killing the bad guy standing right next to the good guy.

Anton, that's exactly what worrying me because of that ability of AI to eliminate side destruction and kills only human

Now defining bad or good that's something different because for some people fighting for the freedom of their country against the occupier they are good for the nation but for colonist occupiers they would be called insurgents

On the contrary, every country should militarize AI. On the terrains like Siachen (highest battlefield of world) where temperature drops to -30 degree Celsius, its very inhuman to post military. I would infact have an army of robot there with AI (ofcourse with a remote control override just in case) to secure our borders rather than fellow humans.

I am a fun guy but don't you think that Quora is more suitable for this kind of discussion? Just kidding, even project managers should take a stand when there is a threat to humanity.

I, for one, will welcome our robot overlords as they are unlikely to be driven by the petty, negative impulses which drive many human leaders!

:-)

Technology has a way of copying fiction so Skynet and The Matrix are both not that inconceivable.

Kiron, I see your point. It is one of the good thing that they don't have emotion to react and retaliate :)

Maybe we can place in you an office with a fireplace and make you supervise a robot with AI. Win win for us and the crazy scientists.
