Drew Craig Sr. Agile & Product Coach| Vanguard Philadelphia, Pa, United States
As a scrum master, my role is as a servant leader, taking responsibility for coaching the team to live agile values and principles, and follow the processes and practices agreed they would use. I help the team to have a positive working environment, good relations with the PO, protection from outside distractions, clearing obstacles, etc. My goal is to lead and empower them to make decisions as a team and learn how to ask questions to drive those decisions. It is important to create a sense of a safe-zone within the team for transparency and openness.

Why not download and read the Scrum Guide as it covers the role and responsibilities of the SM in detail? Anything beyond that is implementation or organization specific.

I fully support @Kiron comments above. There is not other valid source than Scrum Guide you can download for free here https://www.scrumguides.org/. The first step to fail when you try to use Scrum is not read and understand the guide. Any other sources are merely interpretations.
