I might still have a copy of one I developed with other experienced professionals during graduate school. It is not a "real" project (prototype race car similar to a small aircraft design), but it is not proprietary and covers contracting through project termination. I will check later to see if I can find it.
Please share it if you could find.

Thank you,

Hello Jermiah ,

A project plan is a road-map that shows the steps you need to take to get from A to B. It shows how you get from your current state to the desired future state.
It will be better for you if you start and practice with small project which is easily relates to our life.

For Example - Project "Make The Cake".
Now to prepare the Project Plan ,you need to be clear on below points:
1. Why do you want to make cake?
2. What cake exactly do you want to make?
3. When? The deadlines and dependencies.
4. How? The process or methodology.
5. Who will eat this cake ? e.g you and your family

Now you can brake this project in below phases :-

1- Initiation - In this phase , you can perform these sub tasks e.g review the different recipes , shortlist the recipe , create recipe and finish Cake Definition ( flavor , size , weight, design etc.)

2- Planing- In Planning, Prepare Shopping List, Purchase Items,Prepare Kitchen , Complete Cake Planning.

3- Baking- In this phase, Prepare Ingredients,Mix Ingredients,Put Mixture in Baking Tray ,Cook and Complete the cooking.

4-Evaluate- In Evaluation , Allow cake to cool , Eat Cake, Review it and Complete Evaluation.

5- Closure - Write Lesson Learned , Closing the Project.

You can use MS-Project for preparing Project Plan.

In MS- Project , you can put these tasks in Task Sheet.
Tasks 1,2,3 and 4 are Summary Task .
Put sub tasks in Summary Task respectively.
Enter the Duration and Resource Details too.
You can use "PREDECESSORS" to link the tasks.
You can get WBS details in MS Project too .

Just try this and explore more MS Project functions to prepare better plan.

I suggest to you start with small and interesting projects for practicing.
Great simple description. Stay blessed.

Thank you,

I did find it and will pass it along. I have a much much more detailed SEMP for the same project, however that is proprietary to me (hundreds of hours invested), and it could be used for an actual project. If anyone has a few $M laying around and wants to finance it, let me know. :-)

For the peanut gallery, the table of contents to the high level project plan at the initiation of the project is:

0 Executive Summary
1 Project Charter and Plan Highlights
1.1 Need Statement
1.2 Goals and Objectives
1.3 Customers
1.4 Plan Highlights
2 Technical Approach
2.1 Scope

2.1.2 Major System Deliverables
2.1.3 Contract

2.2.2 Technical Performance Measures (TPMs)
2.2.3 Major Subsystem and Functional Interfaces
2.2.4 Maintenance, Operations, and Support
