Cheikh, I find the question somehow in related to the subject ‘Health Care in PM’. Anyways, you can always find the right balance. Time management is of utmost importance when it comes to work / personal life balance. You need to set your priorities and go from there.

Sunil, my personal conviction is that we cannot separate wellness related problems due to stress and complications due to work balance life. These are two aspects of the same question of health care when managing projects. Thank you so much for sharing.

Hello Cheikh: Healthcare project management is also my field of expertise - and it is very fast paced and quickly changing. Technology is constantly upgrading and changing in the medical equipment industry. You are right - it can be a bit overwhelming! I find myself "tap dancing as fast as I can on a moving floor" every day, but that is also fun and exciting. Finding a work/life balance is a constant changing target as well. For me personally, if I fit in exercise, make good eating choices and get enough sleep I can handle the intensity and rapidity of change better.

Regardless of the infusion of technology in healthcare that possibly impact project, work-life balance should be supreme in priority. Just my thought

I think Cheikh was just referring to Taking care of one's health (Mental and Physical I assume) while being a Project Manager which can be demanding and stressful .

Yes Work Life Balance is the key . You can use meditation , take a walk during lunch time and get some fresh air , take 10 minutes off and go for a walk whenever you feel overwhelmed, Join a gym if possible or go for a jog in the morning or evening as time permits, try and relax and take your time to have a meal break.

Absolutely Deepesh, a sane spirit in a sane body as we're used to commoly say. Any demanding and stressful job needs meditation and even yoga if possible. Thank you so much for sharing.

Maintaining a good balance is up to you to promote for both your and the team members sake. I've said this before but the extra mile you walk today will be expected in 3 months time and demanded in 12. So how much rope you are prepared to give is up to you and you need to be careful about creating expectations. Make sure that each extra mile is a BIG deal, not because you expect something in return but to make sure it is understood that it is not the norm but the exception.
