This is a follow up on a question I posted back in 2018. For those who are PBA Certified, in your opinion, what is the most reliable source for simulation exam related to PBA ? Thanks.

You're welcome!

Did you notice that PMI changed the experience qualifications for their PMI exams, including the PMI-PBA from # of hours to # of months? This not only simplifies the application process, but actually makes it easier to qualify. For example, if you worked as a hybrid PM/BA on a project between Jan 2020 - March 2020, that's 3 months of business analysis work experience regardless of how many of those hours were actually spent on business analysis work. Curious what everyone's thoughts are on that?
Cheryl

Frankly speaking, not very impressed with this change. PMI should have made the application process more rigorous in order to ensure those who really qualify only sit for the exam.

We shall wait and see how things shape up.

Rami,

to answer your question, when I certified in 2017, I used Watermark learning material primarily. The book and their simulator. I did not buy their course because it was definitely not in my price range at the time.

My employer did not sponsor my PBA credential journey. So I got different books :
- Business Analysis for Practitioners: A Practice Guide
- Requirements Management: A Practice Guide
- PMI-PBA Certification Study Guide (by Watermark)
- Achieve Business Analysis Certification: A Concise Guide to PMI-PBA®, CBAP® and CPRE Exam Success == I would in retrospect give it a pass
- Business Analysis Techniques: 99 essential tools for success

I was undecided between PMI-PBA and an IIBA certification, so I did a e-learning course on the BABOK 3rd edition that gave me the credits to apply for the exam with IIBA and PMI.

All that and a lot of crossed-referenced notes!

That's what I did/used along with the Watermark exam simulator.

Once you know the material, I think the simulator is helpful in putting you in context, in an exam situation. It helps prepare the candidate more for the process of taking the exam than the content. I went from 74% to 91% in my last simulation in the space of a month or so.

I passed the PMI-PBA with 4 Above Target marks and 1 on Target mark.

Hope this feedback is helpful.

Chantal

My application has already been accepted. I am going to sit for exam in a couple of months, InshaAllah. I am using PMI standard for PBA along the RMC publication—PBA exam preparation text book. I think Watermark learning provide the best material, but is far expensive. I guess so.

Regards,
Aziz, after performing some sleuthing online, I heard from a user who sat for the exam, that Watermark is no where near the real exam questions.
