I think it is already increasing. 10 years ago, I was working with mostly Product Managers and Engineers. Then around 2011-ish, Scrum Masters came on the scene (more and more). Then, I noticed more and more Product Managers moving further up the chain to more of a Roadmap maintainer. At first, Project Managers took on "operations projects." I used to joke that these were not project managers, but problem managers. It was only in the last 5 years I started seeing a value placed on project managers owning and driving new technology initiatives in SaaS, PaaS, and IaaS. It was good to see. Saving Changes...
