Some years of experience comes handy :)
PMBoK must be used because at the end of the day this is what can be used in practice. Rita is an exam passing aid, not necessarily a book that you will use as a PM. I used Rita's question to check if I have the knowledge required and the PMBoK to fill the gaps. Saving Changes...

In my classes, I use
1. PMBoK as the reference
2. a set of mock exams - some are included in Rita
3. the current version of Rita (now 9th)
4. a set of slides Saving Changes...

Rita's content is exceptional, you should definitely review to deepen your knowledge after reviewing the curren PMBOK.
Read the PMBOK three times. Once to get a feel for the book, second to highlight, third for notes and follow up actions you feel you need prior to taking the exam. Good luck!

wow that sounds a great plan.
minimum 4 months to feel comfortable for the exam.
Nahid, PMBOK is the main book however it doesn't mean if you don't have Rita 's book you wont pass, there are many other books like Rita you can read and enhance your knowledge
I don't have anything against the Rita book as I have heard lots of appreciation from many people but I also know many people passed the exam without it.

Thanks Riyadh,
I have PMBOK but heard alot that RITA is easier to read, understand and pass the exam.
Started my course and PMBOK also still not sure which book should be the main reference for the exam.

Maadi, keep in mind that the goal is to pass the exam. Rita is an exam passing aid only.
In practice some if not most of the PMBoK knowledge needs to be adapted to the field conditions.
I tried to answer first to the practice questions in Rita to find out what gaps I have. Some answers are pretty easy based on experience and common sense but there are areas of the exam that need to be learned from the book because in practice they may not be covered by the book.
