This is the one of the reasons of sprint change. Though it is rare case but sprint/s can be cancelled in between sprint. We can also call this situation "sprint is blown". (not sure :) )
When spring goal is useless to customer and no longer produce any business value.
Product owner will cancel the sprint after receiving feed backs from key stakeholders and the scrum team.
Immediately new sprint planning will be initiated.

As Milind has indicated, the PO is normally the only role with the authority to cancel a sprint. This is expected to be a rare event as it would be triggered if the sprint goal or goals are no longer viable or valuable.

A Sprint can be cancelled before the Sprint time-box is over. Only the Product Owner has the authority to cancel the Sprint, although he or she may do so under influence from the stakeholders, the Development Team, or the Scrum Master."
According to reality, anyone the company gives the authority to cancel the Sprint, can cancel the Sprint. Saving Changes...
