Besides I use it in a lot of types of projects right now we are using it in a critical project that take place in Venezuela: external and internal conditions are complicated, people is multitasking, three teams distributed in three different countries, challenge time frame due to the need to put the solution in place as soon as possible to keep the operation up and running. Virtual is not the issue, but larger could be. If the product cannot be delivered by a single small Scrum team (10 as per the Scrum Guide, but definitely 13 in practice) then you will have multiple teams collaborating together and will need to consider augmenting the guidance in the Scrum Guide with scaling practices (e.g. Scrum of Scrums).
