Is it my early perception or is this community 95% dominated by I.T. related project management interests and objectives? Searching for GIGs to join and common-interest user profiles turns up more I.T. abbreviations and histories than I expected. Any advice? Saving Changes...
While it is true this site is dedicated to IT project Management - which means every other acronym is going to be in the Info Tech gibberish, the advice given on how to manage projects is not specific to the IT industry. In the same way that management concepts and techniques are universal, managing cost, schedules, vendors, and contractors is a universal constant with project managers.
So you may not be an IT project manager, and the "ganttheadians" may try to baffle you with 3 letter abbreviations,. don't let that deter you from seeking advice. Obviously, if your question is more specific to your industry, we may have limited experience in that specific field, but then again - the breadth of experience here is pretty wide and deep, so I wouldn't be surprised if someone had a thought provoking comment.
