Good Evening,
I bought quite a few Udemy course when they were on sale around New Years. I’d like to know if these are okay to use as PDUs? The courses are at minimum 1 hour and a certificate is provided only upon completion of the course. Thanks for your help as so don’t want to bet on something that won’t be considered valid if audited. Saving Changes...

Hi Jeff,
My understanding of PDUs from Udemy is that they must have been recognized by PMI for us to claim PDUs. Most courses that provide PDUs state so on the description. If there is a mention, you can definitely claim it. Hope this helps. Saving Changes...

Jeff, yes you can claim those as PDU's even if the training provider is not a Registered Education Provider by PMI. The only difference is that sometimes PDU's from non-registered providers gets audited, but thats too is random.
I took some courses on Udemy and there are great courses there, and was able to claim the PDU's without a hassle. If you get auditied, just make sure you have the certificate of completion and ensure that the course is project management related.
Hope this helps ! Saving Changes...

If you bought them, then apply for PDUs. You have nothing to lose. They will decide on the validity of those courses. Saving Changes...

Thank you all for your responses, I just earned my PMP last fall and have been trying to make sure that I understand the requirements of the Talent Triangle for PDUs. I understand that Technical and Leadership aspects. However, based on my reading the Strategic and Business Management portion of the triangle would seem to allow for earning PDUs related to your specific industry is that correct? I work in the IT field so would this mean that I can complete relevant IT courses to meet this requirement? Saving Changes...
