As it's necessary to fulfill 35 hours of education to get PMP certified, can one take seminars through the AMA and use those hours to qualify against the requirement? In the AMA catalog of classes, they label the seminars as qualifying for PMP certification education hours....
Has anyone done this before? Or is it necessary to enroll in a class at a local college? Saving Changes...

You can take classes from anyone and anywhere. Just make sure they are reputable. Before you sign up for any classes, think through some of the training you have taken in the last several years - ethics training, diversity training, team building, communications training, et al. Each of these topics can support the training requirement. Don't feel the need to load up on 5 classes. Take one class that provides a comprehensive overview of project management and then fill in the blanks with other topics that may not have project management in the title. BTW, I do training for a living. Spending all of that money is NOT necessary.
