Stakeholder Engagement and Communication management are the big ticket items in every project that I have been associated with.

No matter how hard you try , because you have to distill your information as you go through the hierarchies in your company , or for different stakeholder groups , depending on their information needs, by the time it reaches the intended recipient, the information has morphed into a totally different one to what you had intended to be sent .

They are uncertainties that have to be managed because no matter how prepared you are, people are different and there is always the inherent risk of not being able to reach the stakeholder in an effective and timely manner.

Shadav -

Biggest area of uncertainty most of my clients face is with regards to the people involved in terms of engagement of stakeholders and being able to have the right people at the right time to meet expectations.

Well Noted. Agree Stakeholder Engagement is biggest challenges for almost every PM.

good question.....great responses...one that comes to mind on my recent project is uncertainty around roles and responsibilities...when not PMing myself I often have to ask my leaders "what exactly is it you are asking me to do?" and/or "who is this task assigned to?" I for one miss the clarity that comes out of the WBS process which seems to have fallen out of favour.

The biggest area of uncertain is stakeholder engagement. When there is limited resources, that split their time between operational work and project work it can be a challenge keep the team committed to your project.

I agree that Stakeholder Management is the main one. In one of muy projects also we have a very big issue related to scope management because sales people negotiated something different to scope signed on contract...
