Yes, My some friends are completed Prince2 Certification They are working as PM .
it is developed for the IT industry , it has evolved to become a flexible and universally appreciated and recognized worldwide method.

I did not complety understand what that you mean for "relevant" but if you ask me, if somebody has to start working with project management discipline using a method, I will say her/him: use PRINCE2.
