What kind of price range did you all pay?

I believe the amount was around $2500 for the week class which included a lot of training materials. However that was about 5 years ago.

also, are any of you members of the PMI? Is it worth it?

Went with pmtraining.com 2 weekend live online classes starting Saturday. Appreciate all the feedback. Still curious to people’s thoughts on becoming a PMI member?

From memory you need to be a PMI member to apply to be a PMP, so you'll need to be a member for at least 1 year.

Being a member of the PMI also gives you various discounts on things here and there. Access to events is also good. The cost to join is not super expensive, so it's probably worth it in my view

Good on you for making the decision to get your certification Michael. It's a challenging journey but if you get in to the right mindset and use it as a learning experience you will come out the other side a much better project manager.

In terms of study guides, I really like the way the guys at PM Master Prep have built their content. They focus on learning how all the pieces fit together rather than simply rote learning all the processes and formulas etc. You're in a much more advantageous position in the exam thinking of the content like this, and it will make you a better PM at the end of it too.

You can access their content here:

https://pmmasterprep.com/ref/19/

Their exam simulator alone is worth it (around US$59) as it lets you complete full practice exams, or specific questions by knowledge area. You can access this via this link:

https://pmmasterprep.com/courses/pmp-exam-simulator/ref/19/

Keep in touch and let me know if there's anything I can do to help you out.

With all my respect, but that is not correct.

You do not need to be a PMI Member to apply for the PMP Exam, but it is more expensive than.

Nevertheless, it is beneficial to become and stay as a PMI Member for several reasons; one is the discounted exam fee (so you do have the membership fee for the first year already taken in) another is the premium access included in the membership fee for that platform here. And there are some other reasons also ...

However, you can become and stay a PMP even without ever being a PMI Member.
