Before you enroll in any certification program, how will it help you? Is your employer looking for a certification or do they prefer a PMP. As a principal in a project management training company, our experience is that the multi-week, expensive certification programs are rarely supported by the market. I would suggest one or two courses in project management and then pursue your PMP. The PMP is globally recognized - even though it is not a perfect predictor of project management expertise. More importantly, become an expert in your company's unique methodology. Become the go-to person for how projects get done at your company - this will make you (imo) indispensible.
