Interesting podcast about bias busters are available at https://www.mckinsey.com/business-function...lamour-projects but i’m struggling to source a definitive list of top 10 cognitive biases in project management, any idea? Thank you for your thoughts! Saving Changes...
I agree. Many project ideas and projects are started with inherent bias aligned with the career aspirations of the individual whose idea it was for the project in the first place. As humans we are overly optimistic, so I would say:
1. My project will be within scope (even though I have no plan to manage scope),
2. My project will be within budget (even though I have no plan to manage my budget),
3. My project will be on schedule (even though I have no plan to manage my schedule),
4. My project will experience no risks (even though I have no risk register or risk response plans),
5. My project staff is competent (even though they lack critical skills and training),
6. My project will meet business needs (even though I have no way of measuring them),
7. My project will experience no technical set backs (even though I had no plan to validate my requirements),
8. My project will satisfy other project dependencies (even though I do not know what they are),
9. My project stakeholders will be satisfied (even though I never spoke to them), and
10. My project will have no lessons learned (see points 1-9) Saving Changes...
