Promotion at work and jealousy of co-workers.

If you were to promote your current status by the project owner, and this caused jealously and hatred by some of your colleagues. How should you act to keep the performance and good behavior at work without being drawn to the problems with others?

In this case, to continue the performance and good behavior, first to accept this without any counter react. Here also storm is very likely and followed by norming and eventually they will perform along with you as a team. Leadership is important.

This is a common problem where hierarchy(basically cultural practice) is much more in work. and everyone is competing for promotion.

Currently on culture Power - High or Low is affects more. If you work in high power environment means hierarchy will be more. If Low power Hierarchy is not seen but everyone are at same position.

People who hate and are jealous are not very respectable and mature. So it is an observation you should take into account for future dealing with them.

As to your own feelings, you may be proud of the promotion and even brag about it but you should rather show some humility of a leader. Some good servant leaders even reject personal benefits and ask to commend the team instead.
