Criticism and Feedback are two different things according to me.

Criticism sounds too negative to me.

Feedback sounds positive. If feedback provided in a polite way can surely boost the performance of the team. Feedback should not only be restricted to improvement plans.
It should also include more of positive appreciations as well.

When I give feedback, I always tell what good they have done, how their contribution has helped the project, which help my team members feel valued. Then I give them pointers which can be improved or what more can be done.

I totally agree with that.
Criticism sounds negative. Feedback is positive and must be given on the work done not on the person.

I agree on the feedback, but constructive criticism is a form of feedback and need not be done in a negative way. On the other hand negative feedback can be seen as criticism when you receive it.

Using either Constructive criticism or Positive feedback can help in improving a teams productivity as well as what Poonam has stated that the team feel valued and the positive work is commended.

Too much feedback or criticism can be seen as micro management and have a negative effect.

Giving feedback that will come across as criticism is not a good idea. You want to maintain morale by being positive. Good leaders find ways to bring out the best in their team.

Feedback may or may not work but criticism generally may not.

I agree with previous comments. Criticism has too much of a negative connotation. Feedback, whether positive or negative can be very helpful as long as it is delivered properly.

Agree with the comments shared by other members.

Feedback, be it positive or negative should be constructive and need to be shared with the team on a continuous basis. We don’t have to wait for the positive/negative events to happen.

As a part of continuous improvement, we have to share our feedback with team and follow-up on the points that we discussed.

Thanks

Hello Shadav: When done with respect for the other person providing feedback can be very helpful. Constructive feedback is focused on specific issues and observations. This can be supportive when shared correctly.
