Hi,
In my organization no one uses MS project for planning. Actually no one bothers much more on planning.
And our unit head is insisting on planning should be done in much more detail. MS project software does cost some amount of money so how to convince Head to spend that much money on software.

Our company is manufacturing there is a one big project going on and there are many improvement project are also need to be planned.

MS Project can be used for scheduling, the use of any technology in any setup is normally preferred if it fulfills demands of the system otherwise manual schduling is better for small pieces of work packages and activities in smaller projects.
