ERP & Web-Site Integration

I am looking for an ERP application that can integrate it's Financials (Invoicing, A/P, A/R & GL) into a web-application for my client who's start-up will sell electronic web-content. It will have to very flexible to accomodate a custom built application and evolving business model.

Currently I'm looking at Oracle, because it is flexible and we have in-house expertise, but I fear that it's overkill for a startup. Any suggestions?
