Hello Friends, Iam Praveen Naikoti, PMP certified on 15th April2019,Having 10+yrs of experience in Project Management , Currently working as Project Manager in an MNC. My journey started like this , I have taken my classroom training in Jul2018 attained PDU’s. Actually I wanted to get certification by Dec2018 but I was not serious towards it. In Jan’2019, I had seriously set up my goal to take my PMP exam on 1st Mar2019 . I have started studying exam preparatory books for 3 hrs daily and 8hrs during week ends . I took my first mock on 17th Feb’19 & secured score of 61% then taken my second mock on 22nd Feb’19 scored with 68%. Then I felt Iam not on right track of scoring for appearing my exam on 1st Mar’19 due to which i postponed my exam by 45days ending up paying additional 70USD with setting up revised exam schedule date as 15th April’19. This time I have corrected my self by reading PMBOK -6 twice understanding the concepts of project management-The 5 process group, 10 knowledge areas and 49 processes. The most important is understanding the terminology because the exam will testify based on the PMBOK langauage and concepts.
Result of my MOCKS 1st Mock- 60% on 17th Feb’19 2nd Mock- 68% on 22nd Feb’19
After reading PMBOK below are the scores 3rd Mock- 74% on 10th Mar’19 4th Mock- 75% on 17th Mar’19 5th Mock- 70% on 22nd Mar’19 6th Mock- 74% on 29th Mar’19 7th Mock- 82% on 7th Apr’19
Finally I have taken my exam on 15th April’19 in afternoon session and cleared my PMP exam in first attempt. It gave me immense joy and happiness when I saw “CONGRATULATIONS You have passed PMP Exam” on my system screen. All my efforts of 105 days have been payed off. Iam thankful to my family for immense support and cooperation to accomplish this goal.
Important Tips & Tricks
1. Fix target date of 3-4 months for exam and start working backforwards. 2. Read PMBOK atleast twice along with preparatory books like Rita Mulchay or any other 3. Remember 5 process groups,10 knowledge areas & 49 processes and EVM formulaes. Do Brain dump in first 10min of exam, this will be helpful when you are under stress of exam. 4. Take as many as Mocks , Taking mocks and doing reassessment will give you lot of confidence. 5. During this stress full exam of 4hrs, take deep breath for every 40 questions and take refreshing break of 10min after attempting 100 questions, have plenty of water which will help brain to reenergise . I have taken break and passed my exam so no harm in taking break during exam. 6. Donot panic with lengthy questions you can read it if you are unable to get the right answer then you can mark it and re attempt the question later. 7. One day before your exam don't study much, Read PMBOK glossary & handwritten important notes. Spend time with your loved once which will help you to be normal & keep away from tension/stress free atmosphere. I have done the same. 8. On the day of exam be normal, Its natural that you will be tensed but the preparation of 3months and scoring in Mocks will give you confidence to go out with guns blazing and passing the exam. I have done it in same way , if 8 lacs people in world have done it you can also do it.
Be confident, Believe in yourself, Stay motivated… Keep working towards developing your passion & achieving your Goals!!!

I too got my PMP Certifications on 28th of March 2019. One thing I have observed and would like to highlight, in the recent PMP exam mathematical / formula based questions are very less (5 to 6 question in my case) and most of them are scenario based (85%) but I heard earlier it was 20 to 25 questions on formula based (Earned value management, PERT, Network diagram, communication channel, etc), Have you observed same?

Congratulations Praveen, Celebrate your success, since this is not an easy certification.
PMP is just the beginning, there is lots to learn, so continue learning.
Taking a break should be optional, since you lose valuable 10 minutes at the security checks with every break. Agree you need breaks – but then one has to take a call between valuable time and taking breaks.

Thankyou Ganesh for your valuable feedback
Yes taking a break is individual choice. But according to me taking break will rejuvenate in such stressful exam although there will be loss of 10min

Congratulations Praveen!
how did you celebrate this accomplishment?
By the way, how do you do a brain dump in?
Thankyou Alicia,
I celebrated having wine with my uncle on the day of passing my exam !!
I have practiced doing brain dump prior to 4 week of exam which helped me to do the brain dump in 7 to 8min in main exam Saving Changes...
