I've used it. It's nearly identical to MS Project.

Another vote for Smartsheet. It's very user friendly with many features (more than you will use). I've found it also to be the most customizable. The companies, I've implemented Smartsheet, have appreciated the fact that outside users (clients etc) do not require a license.

As mentioned above yes there are large number of software available in market.so i will suggest you first finalize the scope or what are the key features you want and also the cost. Then you compare them. If you want one stop solution with everything then i will suggest JIRA but it is costly , other wise many options are there like Wrike, Trello , smartsheet, clarizen etc Saving Changes...

Hi Ethan,
as I currently dealing with the same topic as you do, I am trying to push the solution offered by Atlasian co. Mostly because JIRA is already commonly used by our dev dept. and Altasian offers so many addons which are usefull in some way. You should be able to prepare a tailored solution for your needs in PMO.
Just try some combination ... if you could use a JIRA for Agile drive then I would suggest a Structure tools and Active Timeline software to set up a combo PM software. This way you could also cover a standard waterfall project needs if necessary for you.
I would like to see how you manage this isue in your company. Please let me know what works for you ;) Saving Changes...

There are so many options out there! Much of it depends on the needs of your organization.
- On-premise or cloud
- Integration points
- client app or web-based
- budget
- other specific needs or pain points trying to fill
You'll get suggestions for the fan favorites / most popular like MS Project, Jira, Smartsheet, Trello, etc. Regardless, there will need to be some due-diligence to ensure the solution meets the need.
Microsoft's Project Premium Version is a good option when you are working in Cascade Projects. It allow plan a schedule, add resources, configurate hours per resource, obtain S curves, and also export WBS to Visio. Saving Changes...
Selecting the PM tool is a fun task! I've had the opportunity a few times. It's best if you demo a range of tools, and then have the team try them out to determine which is best. If you do that, you'll have more success with whatever tool you select. Saving Changes...

Hi Ethan,
When considering a PM Tool think about the current requirements and future requirements like resource management. I am not a fan of MS Project. It lacks a lot of functionality compared to other PM tools I have used. Have experienced users who know how to build schedules using relationships with durations and understand the difference between task types test drive the software before making any decisions.
Good luck! Saving Changes...

If your organization already leverages Salesforce, TaskRay (SF App Exchange) is a good option because you can report on your Project using Salesforce Reports and Dashboards, plus it is likely all of your resources/clients are already in that database. No need to duplicate data! Saving Changes...
