We are going to install a collaboration tool (e room). To make it unique and easy to use, we want to have the same structure of required Folders in each e room (each e room contains a different project).
To protect Users to change the structure or abuse to tool (as a file server)I need some kind of Procedure.
Does anybody has experience with such tools?

if eRoom doesn't have object level security where you can determine who can and can't view/use folders/files/etc. then run very, very far away very quickly.

You also need the ability to create user profiles - i.e. restrict the functions that a particular can execute such as create new folder/rename folder/etc.

some of the higher end collaboration tools like OmniSpace provide all of this.

I've been using eProject for the past year as a global collaboration tool. I've found it serves the bill very nicely. You can even get the use of a free version without all the "lights & whistles" just to get a feel for it. I very much like the document control and threaded conversations as well as the control features. Mgmt likes the customized reports. Give it a try at http://www.eproject.com

We are focusing on leveraging what we’ve purchased and brining it together as a project management system and delivering it on the web. Our user’s tools consist of Microsoft Office & Project 2000. We think we can get a better project management solution for cheaper, and do it ourselves faster. We use a combination of Microsoft Project Central & Microsoft SharePoint Team Services (comes with Office). The Microsoft SharePoint Team services product is a team web site that provides functionality for documents sharing, discussions, calendars, contacts, lists, announcements, etc) and Project Central is for the team to collaborate on the schedule, reports status and track time. It also allows for big picture view into the project. All information is store in a web repository that can be accessed on your intranet or over the internet.

Follow this link http://www.effectivelink.com/solutions/starter.html to see an example with some screen captures, it shows the integration possibilities with the products discussed above.
