The PMBOK 7th edition preparation has been started as draft. What is your recommendation for this edition? Is there addition should be added? Is there any deletions should be deleted?
How can I share for this preparation? what is requirements??? Saving Changes...
Thanks Kiron, so by the looks of it , the PMBOK official release could be Q4 2020 or even early 2021....
Their target duration was one year so if they stick to that it would be Q3-Q4 2020.

One thing that comes to mind is why is PMI changing the exam in July 2020 if there new edition of the PMBOK will be released shortly after ?
Maybe to inspect and adapt on the new exam while its still based off the 6th edition before they change it again to be in line with the 7th ? Whats your thoughts on this ?

Hi Rami -
Good question, but remember that the Guide is just one of many reference sources used by volunteers to substantiate the questions they come up with.
The ECO itself is not PMBOK-based beyond the process groups. Whereas in the past, one could have mapped the ECO tasks to specific chapters (knowledge areas) in the Guide, that is no longer the case with the new ECO.
Having said that, there might have been some opportunities to better integrate the parallel activities happening at PMI (e.g. PMBOK Guide rewrite, new exam, acquisition of DA).

My suggestion would be to properly delineate issue management from risk management. That would include reconsidering the new definitions for issue and risk, introduced in the sixth edition.
People still struggle in identifying something as a risk or an issue.
Stephane, that is an excellent one issue and risk are often confused. Saving Changes...
Organize it in a more real-world process flow similar to the groupings shown by Ricardo Vargas process flow diagram (e.g. Identify Stakeholder appearing after Develop Project Charter instead of in different chapters, just identify the process groups). Saving Changes...
Just wanted to provide input regarding the new 7 edition:
1) The differences in roles between a Project Manager and a Change Manager is now becoming more defined. Although we have the Talent Triangle, this became really obvious to me when I took part in a workshop that discussed the difference between the two. My suggestion is to possibly incorporate change management strategies/methodologies (possibly partner with Prosci or ACMP for this) into the new PMBOK Saving Changes...
Very relevant proposal for reflection, Michael. Other roles as a knowledge management expert could also be taken into account. Or perhaps include them in the SME category (Subjet Matter Expert) Saving Changes...
