I know there is no published score or passing grade information for PMP6 exam.

However, I would like to know if questions graded differently as some questions are more complex than others.

Are formulas and calculations get higher grade as they more complex?

Are questions on exam broken down into categories?

Any advice is appreciated.

PMP exams has 200 question with equal weight of 1 marks each. However you're score or passing grade are judged from 175 questions only. 25 question do not contain any value, as they are part of PMI's trial for better question in next version.

All questions are scenario based and no complex calculation to be done. Based of experience with speaking with various PMP holders, passing score is somewhere between 70% to 80%.

Hope this information is helpful. You can refer below link as well from PMI for more info.

No - each question is worth the same points and you won't lose points for guessing so process of elimination if a good practice if you aren't sure about your response.

There is no grouping of questions - e.g. you wouldn't get all the questions related to Planning in one batch. However, each question traces back to a unique Task and Domain within the Exam Content Outline for the PMP exam.

Exam is not broken down into any categories. When I attended training in the fall, instructor said more complex questions, worth more. But it is not written or explained anywhere, so maybe this is true and maybe not. There is no clear grading method published anywhere.

All questions worth the same - 1pt. Don't get caught up spending too much time on 'complex' questions at the expense of many 'easier' questions. For example, run through a pass to get low hanging fruit questions, then backtrack on marked questions and so on. On average, only 1.2 minutes per question.

I tend to agree with Kiron’s feedback.

Well, technically, you can't fail PMP ;) . However considering PMP exam. You can write 3 times in a year.
However it's best that you practice PMI-PMP standards and follow best industry practices, and next time study well. You'll pass the exam.

Sanjay-
Fair enough. Just to spell things out-- I FAILED the PMP Exam.
And, kind of tough to practice PMI-PMP standards when my company does not support it.

So, please let me know if you have any more brilliant suggestions.

Hi Tricia - Take it as a dress rehearsal for your next attempt. Now you can be confident in having more insight into those unknowns from the first attempt; what's the testing center like, what's it like sitting for 4-hours, what will the questions be like, will I have enough time, etc. Use that to build your confidence back up and have more energy to focus on the content. For me, time was the biggest factor. For instance, gauge if you want to 'mark for review' at first glance, not after reading it - by then the time is already used. You want to avoid being rushed toward the second half. I always advise; control the test, don't let the test control you. Go in with a plan and execute it.
