Will the existing PMBOK Guide 6th Edition still remain a valid source after changes to the exam content outline? After a quick glance at the new content, it appears that there are many more topics that are not covered in detail in the PMBOK guide, but are listed in the new exam content outline.

What do participants do in this case - stick to the PMBOK guide or read additionally beyond that? Even the Agile Practice Guide doesn't seem to cover the gaps.

While they say that "there are noticeable differences between this updated PMP Examination Content Outline and A Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK® Guide) – Sixth Edition", they leave the abovementioned doubt unaddressed.

Can someone help clarify this?

The value in the new curriculum in my opinion will be almost equivalent to what is obtainable in top Business schools for the MBA program. Say that to say this, extra work will be required from outside the PMBOK Guide.Separating the men from the boys.

For at least the past 15 years, the PMP® exam has covered a lot of material not included in the PMBOK® Guide. That's why a good PMP® exam prep course is so valuable.
