Project Management Successful Achievement

According to the PMI, its PMBOK guide and all the major references on Project Management, one of the main characteristic of a project is to have a beginning and an end.
But for the project maintenance, who other than the project manager and his team can secure the project result for its long term viability?

Perhaps I did not understand your question but just let me say there is not a project maintenance. What you maintain is the product/service/result create by the project. Business analyst is the key role to monitoring if the solution (product/service/result) is getting the expected benefit and to help the organization what to do in case the expected benefits are not achived.

We are then in the same situation. I live in a country where French is the official language but my relationship with English lasts since secondary school and is sustained by passion and love.
