Looking for a better job title -- Project Manager/Business Analyst
Anonymous
I'm looking for some job title options that combine a Project Manager and a Business Analyst. The analyst aspects of the job are to fully detail a concept or solution prior to initiation of a project and to be a IT BS detector. However, the major competency of the position will be project management. This is in an IT-related setting. I'm also not sure if HR likes the word manager or coordinator.
Project business analyst, project analyst put the PM competency front and center but it still screams analyst.
Any ideas out there? Saving Changes...

Hi Anon,
Since the the major competency is Project Management, I would just go with PM. But if that doesn't work, how about PMBA? This implies a Project Manager role that also performs Business Analysis. I tend to agree with you, if the core competency of the role is PM, then an analyst title might be problematic.
Great post. ~ Mark

as many people move from BA to PM why not junior PM? what purpose do you need the title for? is it just to keep HR happy or do you need it to advertise a role? Saving Changes...
