Certification

Hi,

I am a PMP certified. Very recently, I passed my Professional in Business Analysis (PBA) exam too. Now, I am thinking about moving ahead, either Program Management Professional (PgMP) or Risk Management Professional (RMP) first then PgMP.

Professionally, I am a chartered accountant (business background) with experience of leading and managing complex financial, audit and recently technology projects. I have unique interest in managing projects.

I know it totally depends on the career path I am following. Please advise me professionally.

You have to understand the value of a PMI certification. As the word certification says, it is about acknowledging the set of knowledge, experience and skills in a given domain, that you bring to bear in your work.

I've been holding back going for my ACP because of that. Now that I have worked on an agile project for nearly two years, I am almost worthy of considering being recognized as an ACP.

I believe I know far beyond value of certification and what is expected of it. Yes, you did well, because you weren't meeting the requirement. You should have waited, no other way.

In my case, I know that I am meeting requirements. All I needed was a professional comment form others.
