What are the prerequisites of getting a PMP certification from PMI ?

You need to have experience. In the pre-reqs, it states the requirements needed based off a degree (college, high school, etc.) You need so many hours of learning, so many hours leading projects.

Prerequisites
Secondary degree (high school diploma, associate’s degree or the global equivalent)
7,500 hours leading and directing projects
35 hours of project management education
------------------------------- OR --------------------------------------------
Four-year degree
4,500 hours leading and directing projects
35 hours of project management education
