Knowing what your underlining requirements are and sticking to them and not allowing scope creep and badly defined requirements to cloud your judgement when deciding on what applications you require. There are a lot of systems/applications/software/solutions that make you think that they meet your requirements but when you start dissecting them you quickly realise that are badly designed, coded or integrated and this will only effect your ability to manage a project.

Thank you so much Daire, I believe that you're right. There are nowadays so many software, solutions and applications that we must effectively first stick to our own requirements and only after that see what exactly feet our needs. Otherwise, it would be a lot of risk on budget and time management.

Thank you so much Sergio, the only important things are the foundations and the basement. It's true that change has always been there but that tsunami of emerging technologies in this digital revolution is causing a very great disruption.
Believe me, no more than others technologies for people like me that started working with computers in 1975.

Yes exactly. Software companies are required to build new and updated software systems in order to increase revenue. This system just build on the old systems requirements and unless your business model radical changes such as web enabling your business then these legacy systems still hold their own.
