Hi Everyone,

I recently took the PMP certification exam and unfortunately I did not pass. I am planning on retaking the exam. If you have any useful tips please share. Thank you in advance.

Best,

Have you already reviewed the detailed results report on your myPMI dashboard as that might help you focus your 2nd round of studying?

Hi Haseeb,

Nothing to worry about, only thing is that what all are difficulties you have come across in the 1st attempt, you can chat it down, analyze yourself and identify gap areas and try to practice more and more valid good mock test and make sure that whenever you give new mock test(200 new questions set in the stipulated time) the score should be above 80%, if below then identify the gap areas/topics and go through PMBOK and other supporting material. The above technique helps you to overcome the failure and by this mehtod, you will be perfect in all area to attempt 2nd go.

Best of Luck, Keep going.......

As some of our colleagues already mentioned, the best thing about having failed your exam is that you now have a baseline going into it the next time.

Not only do you know what to expect, you also know the areas you need to shore up. If you used a specific supplier for mock exams, get a different one this time. Same thing if you took a course. Using different suppliers will provide you with new material, written differently.

All the best.

Hey Haseebulla,

sorry for failing the first time, but that happens to a lot of the aspirants. Great to hear that you will try it again.

You already got some great tips here and I would echo them. I will send you, in addition, some helpful links via pm, since we are not allowed to post external links at the discussion board.

Hope they will help yu a bit.

all the best for your next try.

Regards,

Markus
I agree with Markus.
Got his links by the way, as I am an aspirant to take a PMP soon. :)
Hopefully that would be helpful to reach our goals! Best of luck!

It took me 2 times. I think I was so nervous on the first one it hurt me. I was prepared and over thought on so many questions. The 2nd time I knew what to expect and passed.
