My company has charged me with the creation and strategy of an internal PMO within a department. First is a focused repository of project work across the department to qualify, organize and log actions.

I'm looking at purchasing a package on projectmanager.com. Does anyone have experience using this software or feedback? Any other stellar tools out there for portfolio development and project execution?

Thank you!

Steven: I would advise you to look at PMO Value Ring, it is a very interesting methodology and program for creating PMO’s. You can contact Americo Pinto on LinkedIn for any inquires.

I personally participated in the review of their methodology and it is impressive.

I would suggest that before checking software you should analyze the work you need to log (including data or file types) and see how can you normalize the data from all this projects. More so if you'd want to do business analytics and data analysis in this PMO or if its only a storage solution. Based on that you can check out different solutions based on what they provide, that way you'll avoid having to purchase extra modules later on.
