I am having total 14 year of Experience and I am in PM role for last couple of years. All my experience is in Automobile industry only.
As a part of learning new things for carrier path, I saw & read about Business Analytics & its link with PM role. I found some the courses for learning BA too. Pl note, I have no experience in BA before.

I intend to do that, but I am still not very much sure if this will really help me? Whether it can really support role of PM & support further in my carrier growth or just a a add on knowledge?
Could you Pl support me?

Hello Himanshu

from my point of view, it is adding to your career and career path.

From my experience,As a PM , you are only an executive organization member. Your Mind and Focus is settled to manage and direct the projects without understanding or know the organizational point of view.
Business Analysis is covering this GAP between the strategic thinking and executive thinking and will enable you to understand /build/establish strategic business plan.

Business Analytics looks at the concept of data driven decision making process, that is how data from various diverse sources shapes the future strategy of an organisation. For some sectors and industries this approach makes sense such as were changing consumer trends, age demographics, disposable income and number of children in a family unit have a direct outcome on the organisation business model. However this approach can stifle creativity if this factor is not included in the business strategy. For the automobile industry Business Analytics is a major component of the business strategy so if you can get some support from your organisations regarding funding your learning and opportunities to apply what you learned to your own organisations business strategy.

I recently earned the PBA and CBAP Certifications because I realized that both roles interact and are as important (i.e. BA & PM) and to be honest, I did benefit a lot from going down than route.

There is lots of interaction and collaboration between both roles.

It's definitely helpful. In software development, it's almost an unwritten requirement that PMs do a lot of BA work on their projects.

From 2010 when the PMI decided to have more prominence in the role the PMI said "BA is a step forward in project manager career" (you can find it inside the PM Network central article published at this time). Take into account this: both are totally different roles, including it the way of thinking and behave.

Usually BAs are pushed into the PM role! Lots of roles are combined BA/PM, so the experience will be beneficial. In my case, twice a BA left the project early and I took on the BA work while managing the project. Thankfully, I was a BA before I was a PM.

I find it valuable but of course I am biased. I earned a MS in Systems Engineering which is in many ways a combination of the BA role and product architecture. We also often perform the PM or Project Engineer roles. BA knowledge can help attain positions of greater responsibility such as managing portfolios of projects, leading teams of PMs, contributing to the development of organizational strategies and best practices, etc.
