How is the role of PM in Hybrid Organisation different from Matrix Organisation?

The same in both. One thing is the role and other thing is how you will define the project and manage it depending on the degree of authority gave to you. By the way, I firmly believe that to get autority is a matter of the PM and it do not depends on the type of the organization, while I understand it could impact.

Sergio, spot on. A good project manager does not depend on others, he or she shapes the environment.

BTW - a hybrid organization has nothing to do with hybrid life cycle models (mix of agile/predictive according to PMI). It is similar to a more complex matrix (look it up in wikipedia). And then Sergio is right, the PM role is same, having to deal with a bunch of sources of power and interests.

BTW2 - my best time was having 4 bosses in a matrix.
