Any major project can have hundreds of requirements. As requirements change frequently and as new ones keeps getting added, it is a daunting task to identify the related requirements and keep them in one place for ease. Is there a template/ sample document anybody has used to maintain the Requirement Correlation? I know there are some tools such as BM Rational Requisite Pro has this faility. I am looking for something of a light scale and not so expensive.

In small projects I used a Scope Log, not much different than a Change or and Issues Log. Similar with the Issue Log I had categories to keep related things together and observe impacts. However, when you deal with hundreds of atomic requirements this will be a nightmare to maintain – so either you group them in larger requirements, and if they have a change they will modify an existing requirement (version control) not add new ones, or you bite the bullet and buy a specialised tool to deal with it (there are some cheaper ones that might be good enough, browse the internet).
