What is the largest Project you have managed? I mean planned timeline / team size / scope / budget volume. If you like to comment if you were able to finish it on time, in scope and on budget it would be welcome as well.

I am asking this question as I am interested how complex the Project might be real examples and as well where I would place my top-1.

I would assume that as a rule it would make sense to cut a more complex Project into a few smaller pieces but probably it is not always done or not always possible

I worked in some large projects overseas and specifically in the Arab gulf region.

Briefly, one of the projects, the budget was around $300 Million USD and the total no of people working in the project was around 10,000 (I know it’s a huge number). The project was divided into four sections with each section managed by a Project Manager and all project managers reporting to a project director.

It was a complex project for sure but we managed to finish within budget (Including variation orders) and within time. There were strict milestones as it is a university project so the open date was crucial by the ministry.

Potential PM salary is the next interesting topic. I think on all of these huge Projects there are only a handful people who have really experience and skills to manage them and on the other hand the health may as well suffer due to high and constant stress so I would imagine that their salary should be rewarding.

I’m working on a Billion dollar project in O&G spanning into 3 sub-phases. The project is currently on time and within budget. The EAC is lesser than approved Budget and the project is expected to be completed ahead of schedule.

Hello Santhosh,

What is your role on this magnificent Project?

My software development projects cannot compare to Rami's construction or Santhosh's oil and gas projects.

My current project, spread over two years, has an $80 M CAD budget. It has a project implementation team of approximately 120 persons and a project business team of about 200 persons.

We had our first Go Live this April 1 to meet the legislative requirements. This year we are adding additional business value to the products.

Hi Lukasz,

Our biggest challenge is organization change management. But not the one you would normally think.

Because we've had such a large project team, we've been able to deliver many tools to support the internal staff using the products: training, job aids, champions, superusers, ...

The business users got used to getting a lot from the project team and now they keep asking for us to do more than the organization ever did for them..

Greetings Lukasz,

I am into digitization projects. These projects are continuous support activity lasting for more that a decade each.
They are not huge and high revenue projects. But, I handle multiple projects at any given time.
