Be Advised that a technology advisory has been issued that may impact many web sites and webinar platforms. In the Summer of 2019, I began receiving a notification that Adobe Flash will not be supported after December 2020 by the Chrome Browser. This is likely to have a broad impact given the common use of Adobe Flash.

It will be a great impact if Chrome and Adobe don't continue being compatible.

I did a search on this and saw someone posting about this issue. One has to wonder if Adobe has the time to create a new and supported FLASH type product for the Chrome browser!

The writing has been on the wall for Flash. Browser companies have been forcing web developers towards HTML5 instead.

It seems yes, html5 is generally replacing the flash.

The question I have is once HTML5 is in use, hat happens to all of those PDF files we have on our computers? Will a reader still be available and supported. Currently, my browser open up the PDF within it. I am guessing that is likely to go away in at least Chrome.

Be careful not to mix your Adobe products, Kevin. Adobe Flash is really a developer's tool to render HTML pages. Adobe Acrobat and its Reader are PDF generating and reading tools.

@ Stephane, Yes I understand that, BUT, when the Chrome browsers move to support HTML5 will likely have some fall-out. It would not be that far of a stretch to see how other ADOBE products that were not built for HTML5 may not be supported OR require the product's software company to rewrite/modify their products to meet the browsers crafted for HTML5 requirements. Remembering my days at Netscape when this was always a concern when we updated the browser. We will likely experience issues, problems and non-support challenges.

I see your point. At least, the PDF format is now an open standard, unlike Flash.
