How much time do you usually spend on ProjectManagement.com? Is this a daily/weekly habit? Why?

I check in once or twice a day on normal weekdays because I'm just curious what my fellow PMs are talking about. Usually there are some interesting topics and blogs that are worth reading, and occasionally there's some relevant news that I would have otherwise missed. I normally spend 10-15 minutes.

Usually about 15-20 minutes per day reviewing and responding to questions each day plus posting my weekly blog article.

I view this as a good investment of my time in helping others and in maintaining/raising my profile in the PM community.

Daily drive around the community. Maybe 10-30 minutes. Depends. If a webinar, longer obviously. Being an active part of the community takes some level of dedication and participation. There is a core group to count on for active content and I'm interested in their contributions and what is going on in the world of PM'g :)

It depends on the interest in the topics. An hour at the most if it's really interesting. Sometimes none. I have about a mile walk from parking lot to office and I muse over topics in my head when I'm doing house work and such as well.

In addition to enjoying helping others, I have found as an instructor and presenter, explaining a subject to others really forces you to organize your thoughts and understand the subject deeper. It seems perfectly clear in your head until you write it down or speak it out loud. That is where you find what you are not clear on as you thought.

I try to check this a few times a day, including the weekends if possible. My main reason, is I love to read other people's articles in my spare time to broaden my view of project management from just outside my organization.

Hello Abolfazl: I try to hop onto this site during the business week when I need a break in my business day. I try to spend 10-20 minutes if possible M-F. If I listen to a webinar, it is usually an hour and I write a monthly blog so spend some there too. This site is a wealth of information, support and inspiration for me and it makes me a better project manager!

My habit is daily, taking a little time in the morning with my coffee, some time during lunch and a visit in the evening. I enjoy responding and engaging via PMC, but I’m a bit like @Keith in that I usually take a subject and ponder on it a bit before responding. So, if I read something in the morning that I feel I can add value to, I will gather my thoughts on it and respond later in the day.

The Why? Giving back and Learning.
