Most people will recommend PMBOK or Rita Guide.
To me I think start with Rita is a good idea. Rita helps to creating a general picture quickly.

I would swear by Rite Guide but my input may be dated. I earned my PMP in 2004 and at that point it was the gold standard. Whatever the choice now I would ensure it is compliant with the new PMI standard that comes out in December if you are taking it after that point. Saving Changes...
