I think it is one of those 'it depends' situations.
If the teammate is assigned to critical path tasks, then that is a red flag. But if the teammate is contributing much less so, then it may not have any real consequence. Also, if the project is using Agile methodology, it will present some real problems.
Regardless, a project's cohesiveness is strengthened if communication flows freely and is deliberate amongst all contributors and influencers. Saving Changes...

Hello Alex: Weak communication between teammates is not optimal for sure! In my experience, the more clear and concise and "strong" the communication, the better off - it can save time, efficiencies and avoid issues to remain in "the right amount and quality" of communication. Saving Changes...
