Helping built a PMO in support of a customer

I am not sure I agree with you Sergio, it is definitely not a waste of time but this is my personal opinion too. I did dig down into this methodology and it is impressive and based on years of research, actually solid research.

I do the same and is nothing new. But is my personal opinion too. Creating a PMO is not a matter of project management. That´s the problem people face and that´s because some people are seeing open a PMO is a headche. Creating a PMO is a matter of strategy as any other business unit. If organizations create it in that way then the PMO is will be an strategic PMO and will perform as expected.

I fully agree that creating a PMO is a matter of strategy and this is what PMO Value Ring is about. I am not trying to be bias but when I did dig deep down, I came to this conclusion. However, not all PMO's are strategic, as it depends on the purpose they are created to serve.
