I have been using Agile mindset before there was a name to it. It might be a fade in some way, but it will stay.

Every place wants to be agile but many aren't. I find my most used methodology is fantasy. It's what all stakeholders ask for!

Please let me a comment @Amanda: Agile is not a method/methodology. That´s the point and because some organizations believe that then fail when try to use Agile.

It is still in use. I think there are hybrids of it employed on a lot of levels though. Six Sigma/Lean Six Sigma is still out there. What types of projects largely determine the best course of approach.
I agree. It totally depends on the type of project. Though, I think agile is most common in the tech sector.

agree with Josh

Agile is always there because it is not a methodology but a mindset.

Been interviewing and every interview I was asked about Agile.
Thanks JonAnn for the heads up.

Yes Agile is much popular still today. I agree that it's a mind set.

Agile is current nowadays with Scrum, Kanban, Lean Techniques. Other enterprises choose to use hybrid methods, combinating agile with cascade form.
Hybrid makes sense as Project Managers can best choose a mix of methodology with the project needs.

I would like to understand it but I still can't find it in my organization, I am very traditional
I think if an organization is working on multiple projests the using agile methodology or others should be implemented to become productive.

Josh,

Our colleagues above have provided some excellent insight to your question. My question back to you is why do you ask? What business situation prompted you to ask this question?
Because nowadays there are other methodologies in place as well like Kanban, Waterfall, Scrum etc. So would like to know if there are agile user here.

Just to comment, Agile is not a set of principles and/or values if you are talking about what stated inside the Manifesto for Agile Software Development. That was stated to implement Agile in the software field. Agile was not defined as a set of principles and/or values. Agile was defined in 1990 as an implementation of systemic theory which demands take care of two key things: enteprise architecture and information. For those that are interested take a look to:http://www.parshift.com/index.htm wich is the site create for the leader of the Forum where Agile was created and defined. In fact, that Forum is still active inside the Leihigh University. Just to comment in case I can help to understand what Agile really is let me say I was part of it. PM Network published a short article I wrote about that:

You put on the table a great point. Lean and Agile are totally different things in the basement and because of that it is impossible to mix them except that the only thing organizations can use from Lean as a tool is the set of principles. Kanban is a whole method but people thing is kanban board. Kanban is used from long time before in any type of environment for example manufacturing.
