The rule #1 in the PM world - except those things you asked vendor to produce, rest of the work has to be completed by project manager. That is the purpose your boss hired you!! Otherwise he/she can do it by himself/herself.
As vendor is providing services, you need not worry about WBS. He will create his project plan to execute (I guess it is Fixed price).
If you are well aware of your project systems, develop project scope related docs and management plans. But talk to your boss every time before you want to start that work. Make sure you produce results according to your boss wishes. Check if your organization has templates for all documents you have to write.
